Five-Axis Contour Error Control Based on Numerical Control Data

Improving contour accuracy is one of the significant goals industrial machining. This paper proposes a error estimation and compensation algorithm for five-axis computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools based on modified (NC) codes. The expected path analyzed by NC data actual trajectory collected sensors are spatially mapped hidden Markov model (HMM). Next, an evaluation function that hybrids tool tip position orientation change trend proposed as index estimation. Finally, spatial iterative learning (ILC) used to compensate error, high-precision machining instructions obtained after multiple iterations. Experiments with different trajectories performed platform verify algorithm’s effectiveness. results show without using planned trajectories, has same good effect traditional methods, which must know planning simple trajectories. At time, method in this better performance than existing algorithms nearest principle at sharp corners. In conclusion, basis not depending overall easier implement applications.
